Due to the rapid expansion and development in the Thai market Carrefour is seeking a senior Director to head the legal department of their Thailand operations.

The Legal Director will report to the expatriate Managing Director and functionally to the Corporate General Counsel located at Carrefour’s European headquarters and will serve as the top legal advisor to Carrefour’s Managing Director. This will involve directing and overseeing all legal issues, setting Carrefour’s legal agenda and priorities and taking overall responsibility for the delivery of legal services within Carrefour Thailand. The Legal Director will also ensure strict compliance with all relevant laws, work with internal departments to establish ethical practices and guidelines, and identify and communicate all new and amended laws which are relevant to the work of Carrefour.

The Legal Director will be a qualified attorney with a minimum of 5 years scholastic experience at reputed law school with part of that preferably being at the post graduate level at an American or European university. The Legal Director will currently be serving either as a senior level associate with a major international law firm or be a senior corporate legal management level executive within a large multinational. The successful candidate must have a strong legal background and extensive legal skills in the following aspects that include real estate, contracts, commercial, taxation and corporate law.
